6400.174 | At the time of the inspection, there were no vegetables in the home and no menu to show that the individual is getting nutrition from all the food groups. | At least one meal each day shall contain at least one item from the dairy, protein, fruits and vegetables and grain food groups, unless otherwise recommended in writing by a licensed physician for individuals.
| It is important for all people supported to receive foods form all the food groups and have a variety of food choices available to them to ensure they are getting nutrition from all the food groups. The individual in this home struggles with overeating and will eat all food in the home within 1-2 days. To assist in preventing overeating and getting sick, staff complete the grocery shopping every 1-2 days. At the time of inspection staff members had the individual at a doctor¿s appointment and then went to the grocery store. They purchased vegetables and all items from different food groups to ensure variety and nutrition. |
