| 6500.135(g) | Individual #1 is prescribed medications to treat symptoms of a diagnosed psychiatric illness and did not receive psychiatric medication reviews at least every 3 months. A psychiatric medication review occurred on 8/02/2021, then not again until 12/20/2021. | If a medication is prescribed to treat symptoms of a diagnosed psychiatric illness, there shall be a review by a licensed physician at least every 3 months to document the r reason for prescribing the medication, the need to continue the medication and the necessary dosage. | The Provider was retrained and instructed to ensure that the individual at the home receives a medication review every 3 months per regulations. If the appointment is scheduled but missed due to cancellation from the physicians office the provider is instructed to get this documented by the physicals' office, stating the reason why this appointment was not within the 3 month time frame. The provider was retrained on the importance of scheduling the next appointment at the current appointment. |
