| 6400.163(d) | Prescription medications for Individual 1 was not kept in an area or container that is locked. | Prescription medications and syringes, with the exception of epinephrine and epinephrine auto-injectors, shall be kept in an area or container that is locked. | While the top drawer of the medication cabinet locked with the provided key, staff was unaware that the key did not actually lock the entire cabinet. It was a relatively new cabinet that replaced individual #1 's previous locked medication box and unfortunately, staff did not have reason to confirm that all of the drawers locked with the key. Values Into Actions¿ Associate Director immediately purchased and installed locking straps to secure the medications in the file cabinet, effective 12/1/23.
