6400.46(d) | Direct Service Worker #1 had training in first aid, Heimlich techniques, and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation completed 5/23/2018 and then again 7/30/2020. Program Specialist #2, date of hire 1/4/2021, had initial training in first aid, Heimlich techniques, and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation completed on 10/11/2021. | Program specialists, direct service workers and drivers of and aides in vehicles shall be trained within 6 months after the day of initial employment and annually thereafter, by an individual certified as a training by a hospital or other recognized health care organization, in first aid, Heimlich techniques and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. | The Training & Development Manager has been designated as a gatekeeper to provide oversight and ensure that all Community Supported Living staff receive training within 6 months after the day of initial employment and annually thereafter. The Manager will utilize employment/training records to create and maintain a chart of staffs¿ current training and upcoming due dates in first aid, Heimlich techniques and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. The Manager will alert the staff member, their direct Supervisor, and the Specialist 60 days prior to the due date for these trainings to be completed and they will ensure that staff register for the training. The Manager will then ensure that all staff have completed registration for the trainings as required. The Supervisor and Specialist will ensure that staff are scheduled to attend the training. The staff member will be responsible to attend the training as scheduled. Failure to do so will result in progressive corrective action. The Manager will alert the Specialist immediately if staff do not report for the scheduled training and the training will be re-scheduled to occur within the required timeframe. The Manager will keep documentation that training has occurred. |
