The medication had not been properly disposed of and was still stored with Individual #1's current medications at the time of inspection. | Prescription medications that are discontinued or expired shall be destroyed in a safe manner according to Federal and State statutes and regulations. | We immediately disposed of the medication in accordance to our procedures and retrained the manager and Director of the importance of checking medications regularly to ensure only current medications are in the home and discontinued medications are properly disposed of. |
