| 6400.110(f) | Individuals #1 and #2 have hearing impairments and require bed shakers to alert the individuals in case of a fire. At the time of the inspection, Individual #1's bed shaker was not on the individual's bed and Individual #2's bed shaker did not function.
**The provider agency ordered replacement bed shakers (2) immediately after the inspection, and agreed to have overnight awake staff in the home until such time that the new bed shakers were received, installed and verified to be functional. | If one or more individuals or staff persons are not able to hear the smoke detector or fire alarm system, all smoke detectors and fire alarms shall be equipped so that each person with a hearing impairment will be alerted in the event of a fire. | Maintenance immediately ordered new bed shakers. We also added additional awake staff to the overnight shift for safety. The new bed shakers were installed and a video of them working was sent to the licensor. |
