This regulation is important to ensure that surfaces are in good repair and free of hazards, specifically curtains and blinds throughout the home to maintain the privacy of individuals.
How was the regulation violated?
During inspection at Paoli Pike, one kitchen cabinet door located on the bottom right of the oven was off its hinges.
Individual #1's bathroom blinds had two partially broken slats.
What Caused the Violation?
Program Support manager did not notice the loose kitchen cabinet or broken blinds during safety and maintenance check and during site's self-assessment inspection.
What can be done right away to fix the violation?
The screws on the cabinet hinges were tightened by Program Director during time of inspection 7.19.18
Maintenance moved broken blinds from individual #1's bathroom and replaced with curtains.
What can be done to prevent future violations?
Program Director reviewed safety and maintenance check form with Program Support Manager at Paoli Program including section that reviews physical site check of current conditions of household fixtures and when maintenance requests should be placed for any fixtures that are in disrepair. Self-inspection tool was reviewed with Program Director. Physical site section was reviewed, along with 6400 regulations to ensure that while completing inspection the current condition of house hold fixtures are checked for any damage, or possible hazards.

How was the regulation violated?
The couch in the living room had worn seat cushions. Individual #2's bedroom tall dresser had 3 knobs missing and the short dresser had 10 knobs missing.
What Caused the Violation?
Program Support manager did not notice the missing knobs from the dressers during safety and maintenance check and during site's self-assessment inspection.
What can be done right away to fix the violation?
Maintenance replaced all missing knobs on both dressers in August 2018. See attached picture: Paoli Pike Dresser 1, and Paoli Pike Dresser 2.
New couch was purchased for program to replace worn couch. See attached order form documentation: Paoli Pike Couch
What can be done to prevent future violations?
