Trash can lids and closed receptacles are important as they prevent the penetration of insects and rodents as well as reduce odor. Trash that is not properly sealed can also create fire hazards and/or result in unkempt environments. How was the regulation violated? The trash can out back did not have lid. What caused the violation? The trashcan without the lid was not in use but an old can that itself was trash and waiting on disposal on the next trash day. Due to township regulations it had to be stored until trash day when it could be placed out for pick up. The trash can should have been paced in a trash bag and placed elsewhere pending disposal. What can be done right away to fix the violation? The trash can was discarded on 8/22/19 by the residential manager Crista Herman who also confirmed that all remaining trashcans had lids (attachment #3). What can be done to prevent future violations? Safety maintenance checklist that is performed on a monthly basis (minimally) by resident managers as well as program directors has been updated to include a trash receptacle check (attachment #4). This will be trained at the next admin meeting on 9/23/19 and then with all managers by 9/27/19. Who will be responsible for preventing future violations? 6400.106THERE WAS NO DOCUMENATION OF THE FURNACE INSPECTION FOR THIS LOCATION. Furnaces shall be inspected and cleaned at least annually by a professional furnace cleaning company. Written documentation of the inspection and cleaning shall be kept. How was the regulation violated? Documentation of furnace check for program Ridge Road was not available on day of licensing. What Caused the Violation? Oversight of the vendor providing the service sending all documentation and oversight of the provider not verifying all program's furnace checks were sent over by the service company completing the furnace checks. What can be done right away to fix the violation? Provider has contacted vendor and requested that all documentation from every program's furnace check be resent including the invoice and documentation. See attachment #1 What can be done to prevent future violations? Provider will check all documentation received from vendor after completion of annual furnace services. Provider will check documentation vs. program list to ensure all invoices were received for all programs.
