6400.112(d) | On 9-27-15, a fire drill held at 3:30 AM had an evacuation time of 7 minutes and 22 seconds. On 11-29-15, a fire drill held at 3:30 AM had an evacuation time of 7 minutes and 12 seconds. | Individuals shall be able to evacuate the entire building, or to a fire safe area designated in writing within the past year by a fire safety expert, within 2 1/2 minutes or within the period of time specified in writing within the past year by a fire safety expert. The fire safety expert may not be an employe of the home or agency. Staff assistance shall be provided to an individual only if staff persons are always present at the home while the individual is at the home. | The Program Specialist noted the 9/27/15 drill during her quarterly record review in November 2015. On 11/11/15, she requested re-evaluation of the procedures and evacuation time for this site from the fire safety expert. An updated letter was received from the fire safety expert on 12/7/15 following his review. From December 2015 to present, fire drills for this site and all other L'Arche sites are in compliance with 6400.112(d).
POC: 1. Beginning in December 2015, the Program Specialist changed from a quarterly to a monthly review of fire drill records. She will continue monthly review of drill records; she will document/date this review beginning in September 2016.
2. For L'Arche sites with a written extended evacuation time from a fire safety expert, the Program Specialist will ensure that team members at that site are trained on the specified evacuation time within a month of receipt of the written notification from the fire safety expert.
