6500.84-1Firearms shall be kept unloaded in a locked cabinet. Ammunition shall be kept in a locked cabinet that is separate from firearms. The Family Living Provider (FLP) had a .38 pistol (hand gun) that was stored in the headboard of the bed that was unlocked. During inspection the .38 pistol (hand gun) that was unlocked at the time of the inspection contained ammo in the magazine of the gun.Firearms shall be kept unloaded in a locked cabinet.- Staff #1 was called immediately upon Lifesharing Specialist(KW) being made aware of the violation and told that the gun need to be unloaded and lock up and the magazine needed to be lock up separately. 5/16/19- Program Specialist (KW) and residential Director (NC) visited the home and retrained Staff #1 on Regulation 6500.84. (Firearms). Signature sheet Attachment #1. Program Specialist (KW) and residential Director (NC) visually inspected the guns location in the lock box and verified that gun and ammunition were now locked separately. Pictures #2, #3, and #4 attached. Lifesharing Specialist(KW) will visit the home monthly and visually verify Firearm regulation 6500.84 is being followed. Residential Director (NC) has developed a home inspection checklist which will be utilized by Lifesharing Specialist (KW) during each monthly home visit to ensure Lifesharing homes are safe and compliant with all regulations. Lifesharing Specialist (KW) will be trained on home inspection checklist on 5/23/19 and contents of training along with signature sheet will be attached. The home inspection checklist will be reviewed by the Residential Director (NC) after any home visit. The Lifesharing Specialists (NC) will immediately address any issues noted on the checklist with the staff 1 prior to leaving. The Lifesharing specialist (NC) will ensure any issues noted on the checklist are corrected in a timely manner. Proof of the correction will be submitted to Residential Director (NC) upon completion. Residential Director or Designee will complete 6 site (sampling) visits per quarter.
