| 6400.143(a) | Individual # 3 refused a prostate examination and there is no refusal plan in place. | If an individual refuses routine medical or dental examination or treatment, the refusal and continued attempts to train the individual about the need for health care shall be documented in the individual's record. | A desensitization plan has been put in place for this individual. All Program Coordinators and Program Specialists have been reminded about the need for such plans if an individual refuses medical care. The nures will review all records for prostate exams, gyn exams, and other exams with a high rate of refusals quarterly and verify that desensitization plans are in place for those individuals who refuse treatment. Individual #3's primary care physician will be consulted for alternative tests for the prostate examination in the event that refusals of the test continue. |
